A biopsy of the prostate is a procedure performed to diagnose prostate cancer.

Your urologist may recommend a biopsy to investigate an abnormal PSA, an irregular feeling prostate, or an abnormal MRI scan.

There are a number of ways a prostate biopsy can be performed, including:

  • Transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) guided biopsy of the prostate.
  • Transperineal (TP) biopsy of the prostate.
  • MRI guided biopsy of the prostate.

At Brisbane Urology Clinic, our urologists use state of the art technologies in the diagnosis of prostate cancer.
